Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy (“Proliferative Injection Therapy”) involves injecting an irritant solution into joint capsules or where tendon connects to bone for the purpose of strengthening weakened connective tissue and alleviating musculoskeletal pain. The injected solution causes the body to heal itself through the process of inflammationThe complex biological response of vascular tissues to harmful stimuli such as pathogens or damaged cells. It is a protective attempt by the organism to remove the injurious stimuli as well as initiate the healing process for the tissue. and repair, although strong scientific evidence supporting this is lacking.

This therapy is contraindicated for patients on the Marshall ProtocolA curative medical treatment for chronic inflammatory disease. Based on the Marshall Pathogenesis. (MP) for reasons that include the following:

  • it increases inflammation
  • if dextrose is used, this substance will encourage the growth of CWD
  • any injection involves the potential to introduce more CWD into the body
