Composing your signature line

Composing an informative signature line is required for members on our sites. We ask that you create and maintain a signature line so that other members of our support community can best understand your situation and experience before responding to your posts.

• It is recommended that you compose your signature line in a file on your own computer and save a copy for your records. (Just in case a technical glitch drops it from the site.)

• Aim for clarity. The easier your signature line is to read, the better!

• Choose your content carefully. There is a limit of 255 characters.

• It's better not to use abbreviations or acronyms that others may not understand.

• Leave a space between words and following commas, to allow lines to break periodically.

• Month and year you started the Marshall Protocol; e.g., “MP Mar'07” or “MP not started”

• Number of months (after start of MP) on break from full dose Benicar/olmesartanMedication taken regularly by patients on the Marshall Protocol for its ability to activate the Vitamin D Receptor. Also known by the trade name Benicar. ; e.g., “(-4 months)” or “(no breaks)”

• List of diagnoses (with year, if known); e.g., “Sarcoidosis '02, hypertension”

• List of key symptoms; e.g., “lungs, skin, joint pain, fevers”

• Latest 25D in ng/mL with date; e.g. “25D=12 Dec'07”. Please convert units if necessary (See 25D units of measurement).

Sample for a member who started the MP in 2007:

MP Mar'07 (no breaks) | Sarcoidosis '02, hypertension | lungs, skin, joint pain, fevers | last 25D= 6ng/mL May'11

Sample for a member who has not yet started the MP:

• A list of your medications. (Do provide this in your progress updates.)
• D-metabolite testing history. (Do provide this in your progress updates.)
• Light exposure and protection. (Do provide this in your progress updates.)
• Links to other websites. (There is a place for this in your profile.)
• Your email address. (This is already in your profile.)
• Information unrelated to the MP.

• Click the green {My Account} button (found near the top right of each page).

• Click the green {Profile} tab, which is the 3rd tab from the left.

• Click your mouse in the box to the right of the column labeled “Signature:” and paste a copy of the text of your signature line from your computer's text editor into this box.

• Click {Save} on the bottom of the page.

You will want to check one of your posts to see that your signature line was saved correctly.

If you choose to link to your progress topic in your signature line, you may have to edit out other information to stay within the allowed length. But it can be done with a little bit of special code.

First, go to your progress topic as follows:

• Click the green {My Account} button (found at the top right of each page).

• You should see your progress thread listed in the {Watched Topics} tab.

• Click on the link to your your progress thread.

Note the address in your browser's address bar. It will looks something like this:

To make this into a friendly link, add this code to the end of your signature line, substituting the topic id that corresponds to your own progress:
