 +====== Diet pills ======
 +
 +There is a number of anti-obesity drugs available, and Xenical (orlistat) is a common one. Xenical is touted to cause weight loss by preventing fat absorption. It works primarily in the intestines, but a small amount is absorbed systemically. Individuals using Xenical must also follow a low-fat diet in order to prevent diarrhea and fecal incontinence. Thus, any weight loss that occurs could be attributed to diet alone.
 +
 +Marshall Protocol (MP) patients are discouraged from using any anti-obesity drug.
 +
 +A [[home:food:carbohydrates#low_carb_insulin_resistant_diet|low carb, insulin-resistant diet]] would be a safer alternative for MP patients recovering their health (and a normal weight).
